Ljubicic, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Friday, became second-oldest winner of a Masters event after Andre Agassi (American won Cincinatti title in 2004 at the age of 34).
Croatian captured his first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Title after runner-up finishes in his three previous Masters finals at Paris and Madrid in 2005 and at Miami in 2006.
Ljubicic claimed his 10th career ATP title and his first since Lyon last October.
Ivan climbed from his 26th in the ATP Ranking to 13 place.
